ReSlope is an interactive, design-oriented, program for geosynthetic-reinforced slopes. For a given problem including geosynthetic strength, reduction factors, and design safety factors, ReSlope produces the optimal layout (i.e., length and spacing) of reinforcement layers. ReSlope was specifically developed for geosynthetics. ReSlope is geared towards the design (not analysis) of reinforced slopes with simple geometry. ReSlope does not consider surficial stability; it assumes that the reinforcement can develop full long-term strength at its front end.

Version 1.0 of ReSlope was developed by ADAMA Engineering (formerly Leshchinsky, Inc.) for the US Army Corps of Engineers in 1995. The commercial versions, 1.2 (DOS), was introduced commercially in 1996. ReSlope has been sold and used in 5 continents. The current version (4.0) is an outgrowth of the original version. It is based on the report entitled "Design Procedure for Geosynthetic Reinforced Steep Slopes," by Dov Leshchinsky, Technical Report REMR GT-23, January 1997, US Army Corps of Engineers, Waterways Experiment Station [Link to WES to view abstract]. Version 4.0 has both computational and functional (e.g., graphics, printout) enhancements compared with previous versions.

ReSlope has efficient algorithms to determine the reinforcement layout quickly. Version 4.0 enables the user to export its results as an input data for analysis using ReSSA(2.0). Hence, adjustment to more complicated problems and refinements can be done using the more comprehensive computer program ReSSA. That is, the output of program ReSlope(4.0) can serve as the initial layout and strength of reinforcement for complex problems using ReSSA.
